Short-lived love

I came up with this while attending an academic conference in the Estonian capital Tartu, possible inspired by a famous fountain.

“You’re so sweet, I could eat you!”

So saying he sank his teeth into her shank.

Her piecing scream startled him.

“That hurts, you bastard!” she shrieked.

And the romance of the moment was lost.
